Announcing Caspio 8.3
September 11, 2014
Another Caspio release is out and we are excited to share with you all the new capabilities available in this release. Note that some features are not available in older grandfathered plans. Details are below.
Watch this video to see these new features in action and read the release notes for more details about these features and a list of smaller enhancements.
Advanced Search and Filtering Logic in Views and Report DataPages
If you’ve ever wanted to create a report or view with complex criteria that required more than an AND or OR between the criteria, this feature is for you. With this feature, you can create nested criteria and mix AND and OR as you wish. It’s available in Reports DataPages and in Views. We have created a drag-and-drop interface modeled after MIT’s popular Scratch language making this logic builder quick and easy to use.
This feature is available in all plans.
Import Update
Our on-demand and scheduled based (DataHub) import has a new capability. Import Update allows you to use the imported data file to update existing records in your table. For customers who regularly bring data from other sources into Caspio this feature allows you to only bring the records that are new or changed, instead of importing your entire table every time.
Import Update is included in all Business and Corporate plans and is available as an add-on in other plans.
New DataHub Repositories
DataHub gives you the ability to import and export data from external repositories including: FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, SCP and SMTP (for export by email) and Amazon S3.
In this release, we have added DataHub integration with Dropbox, Box, OneDrive and Google Drive.
New repositories are included in all Corporate plans and are available as an add-on in other plans.
New Security Feature in Password Change
Do you allow your app users to change their password within the app? If you do, turn on this new functionality with just one click to add another layer of security. With this new feature, the user will be required to enter their existing password as part of the process of changing their password .
This feature is available in all plans.
